Creationfest

The brief

Creation Fest is one of the UK's biggest Christian festivals, held annually in Cornwall. Over three years, Your Friend Studio has designed merch for the annual collection - t-shirts, hoodies, totes, and more. Starting with a handful of pieces in year one and growing into a larger body of work across the following years.

The thinking

Festival merch lives or dies by one thing: would someone wear it when they got home? Each collection every year has to feel like a complete world that's coherent enough to sit together but individual enough that each piece works on its own.

The illustration and the copywriting happen at the same time here. "100% Jesus Juice" on the badge next to a skating orange character. "Not actually a pizza company" in the small print on a tote. "Blueprint" stacked and warped across an entire back panel. The words and the images are the same idea, just in different languages

The result each year is merch that looks like it belongs at a festival people actually want to attend.

Thousands of pieces in the wild. And I wear it at home.
